About Me

Hi, I am Myshundre Davis, the owner of Davis Second Love Learning Center, let me start out by saying welcome and share a little information about me. I started my in-home learning center in 2013. I have been married for 11 years to an awesome man named Jeffery Davis. I have over 10 years’ experience with children. We raised 1 of our grandsons, starting at the age of 3 years old. He is now 14 years of age. He was one of the reasons why we decided to open our business.

My Journey

My journey started at UT Southwestern Medical Center over 25 years ago when I worked in a Department called NEW CONNECTION. This program was for pregnant mothers and also offered parenting classes for women who had substance exposure and offered daycare onsite while parents attended educational classes. As a secretary, I would get all the paperwork ready, but when I was needed I would go into the daycare area and assist in the childcare room. When I saw those innocent babies who were exposed to drugs, that is when I realized what my calling was. Some of the babies would go through withdrawal, cry, and shake. I would pick them up and hold, rock, and sing very softly to her/or him. It touches my heart when a baby looks up at me with a smile or coos. This is why I wanted to open Davis Second Love Learning Center. I wanted to make sure our center gives our children the love and education they need. Davis Second Love Learning Center is a loving environment where children can play, learn, and grow together by singing, dancing, and writing.

Philosophy

Davis Second Love philosophy believes having a parent, teacher, and child relationship is very important to a child’s education as we are working hand in hand with parents.   Every little person has his or her own personality.  Each child develops in their own unique way, children learn best by doing and participating in different types of activities such as playing, singing, hands-on training, and writing.  There is not one child that develops on the same level; therefore, we must encourage growth within each child by treating them as individuals. Our program will provide healthy nutritional meals and a stimulating educational curriculum.  Our children are the most important part of our lives, and we will give them the tender loving care they need while they are away from home by providing a happy, safe, secure, learning, fun, and developmental environment for children.
